Breaking the News

We have officially released the news. Our little family is growing!

I went to the doctor yesterday and heard the heartbeat. Only one, but that is fine with us! I was able to record it for Scott to hear when he got home. It made everything seem so much more real.

Our parents were very excited, and we were so excited to tell them. Here is Henry with Grandma and Grandpa:

Morning Sickness...all day long...

So 9 weeks in and still feeling sick. Just when I think it is over it starts again. Today wasn't the best day in those terms, hopefully tomorrow will be better!

Scott keeps thinking that this is signaling a girl since I was not this sick with Henry. I think things are just different this time around so I'm not leaning either way yet.

Licorice Anyone?

Lately one of the only things that sounds good is licorice. Today at Meijer I bought some and had to hide it in my drawer at work to prevent myself from eating the whole bag.

Interesting note: I was craving licorice during my last pregnancy at about the same time.

Our Secret Keepers

Because we had to tell someone, we told Matt and Olivia about the new baby. They were the first to know about Henry, so we thought it was fitting.

Olivia is working Henry into this new concept. When I picked him up a couple of weeks ago they told me what they were working on:

O: Henry, let's show your mommy what you learned today.
O: Henry do you want to be a big brother?
H: Noooo
O: Henry do you want a little sister?
H: Noooo

Of course this was the same week he learned "No". Great timing!

The Pregnancy Journal

When Olivia was pregnant for Levi, she found the Pregnancy Journal. This is a book that has daily updates about the baby and your pregnancy. I filled this in while waiting for Henry, so I got it out the other night to fill in again. It has been very interesting to see how similar yet different these two pregnancies are. It will continue to be fun to see how it progresses in comparison.

Our Little Secret

I am starting this blog before we have official revealed our news. I'm probably risking someone "finding out" early, but...yes, we are expecting baby number two.

We are about 8 weeks into the 40. We are excited and nervous about our little addition, but we know that it is all in God's plan, so we are letting Him be in control.

The baby is due June 21, 2008. We think that this is extra special since it is our 5th anniversary. If the baby cooperates we'll have even more to celebrate that day. I'm planning for a late baby again, but we will see!

Why, you may be asking, is this a separate blog, why not just include it on the main blog? Well, we know so many couples that are expecting that pregnancy stories can be overwhelming, especially to the non-pregnant ones. So, in order to spare them, and keep the interested ones informed, the blogging bump is formed.
